We’re absolutely delighted to share that W M Walker Jewellers has been named Independent Retailer of the Year 2025!

It’s a huge honour and a wonderful recognition of everything that makes our little Cockermouth jewellers so special.

Since taking over the business in August 2023, Brenda Warriner-Little has brought fresh energy, creativity, and a true passion for customer care. Having worked at W M Walker since 2009, Brenda knows our customers and our community inside out — and that love shines through in everything we do.

Over the past two years, our sales have grown by 120%, we’ve started designing our own pieces and sourcing stunning gemstones from trusted suppliers, and we’ve welcomed a young new team member bursting with ideas and enthusiasm.

Brenda, who is also Co-Chair of Cockermouth Chamber of Trade, says:

“We love our customers, and we love the shop — it’s very special.”

Owner of the business

Brenda Warriner Little 

In her spare time she likes walking in the fells and spending time with her family and dog. Brenda also raised money for the charity Crohn’s and Colitis UK. Her favourite stones are Amethyst and pearl.

Assistant Manager

Lucie Abraham 

Loves spending time with her Family and Friends. Likes Retro Cars and is an apprentice Spanner Monkey for her dad. Her favourite stones are opals and mystic topaz.
